SUBJECT: REZONING APPLICATION - G. GRAY
PART LOT 28 CONCESSION 2 former VILLAGE OF NEWCASTLE

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report PD-24-91 be received;
2 . THAT this file be closed upon the request of the applicant.
3 . THAT the Durham Region Planning Department and interested parties
listed in this report and any delegation be advised of Council's
decision.
1 . APPLICATION DETAILS
1 . 1 Applicant: G. Gray
1 .2 Owner: Sonbon Homes Ltd.
1. 3 Rezoning: From "Urban Residential Type One Exception (Rl-
1) " to "Urban Residential Type One (R1) " to
permit a 179 . 5 sq. m. addition to the existing
structure creating a semi-detached dwelling.
1 .4 Area: 725 sq. m.
2 LOCATION
2 . 1 The subject property is located at the north west corner of Wilmot
Street and Manvers Street in the Village of Newcastle. The
municipal address is 20 Manvers Street. The property can be
further defined as located in Part Lot 28, Concession 2 former
Township of Clarke. -. . . .2

3 BACKGROUND
3. 1 On August 2, 1990, the Town of Newcastle Planning Department
received an application to amend the Town of Newcastle
Comprehensive Zoning By-Law 84-63, as amended. The applicant
wanted to build an addition to the existing single family dwelling.
This addition was to be used as a second dwelling, hence creating
a semi-detached dwelling.
3. 2 On November 19, 1990 the Planning Department received a letter from
G. Gray, acting on behalf of Sonbon Homes, asking Staff to
discontinue processing this application. The application was
withdrawn for financial reasons attributed to the development (ie)
lot levies, regional levies and road contributions .
4 . 0 CONCLUSION
4 . 1 At the owners request, Staff is recommending that Dev 90-073 be
closed.
