There are presently in excess of twenty matters awaiting trial. In an effort to meet the increased
demand for Court time, the By-law Division has had to borrow time from the Durham Regional
Police Dockets and arrange for special dates in the Provincial Court in Whitby. Attempts are being
made to increase the allocated Court time in order to alleviate the backlog and resolution time.
