BY-LAW 98-185
Being a by-law to amend By-law 89-107, to
regulate the use of skateboards in the Municipality
of Clarington
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington deems it
necessary to amend By-law 89-107 regulating the use of skateboards within the limits of the
Municipality of Clarington.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITIY
OF CLARINGTON ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT By-law 89-107 be amended as follows:
a) THAT Sections 3 and 4 be deleted in their entirety and replaced with the
following:
3. No person shall ride a skateboard on:
(i) Municipal Administrative Centre property at 40 Temperance
Street, Bowmanville;
(ii) Any public streets as identified as per Schedule "A" attached
hereto and forming part of this by-law; or
(iii) Any municipally owned or operated recreational facility and its
adjoining Lands unless otherwise posted.
4. Every person who contravenes a provision of this by-law is guilty of an
offence and upon conviction is liable to a fine as provided for in the
Provincial Offences Act.
