Attendance: Theresa Vanhaverbeke, Karen Bastas, Marni Lewis, Valentine Lovekin, Diana Stephenson,
Jackie Foxall, Krista Klawitter, Lorraine Forget, Councilor Wendy Partner

1. Attendance taken.
2. Meeting called to order at 9:30 a.m.
3. Approval of June minutes,Accepted by J. Foxall, Seconded by L. Forget
4. Business Arising from Minutes: The Newcastles of the World event is tonight,August 9, 2012
from 6-9pm and the Town hall. Everyone is encouraged to come out and see the
presentation and learn more about how this event will impact our community. There will be
food and cash bar.
5. Treasurer report: there is currently a balance of$30,159.00. Mid-year report attached.
6. Committee Reports:
Safety& Decor; Jackie is not happy with the hanging baskets, she feels they should be fuller
and bigger, she is going to get 3 quotes for the next meeting so we can confirm the order
before the fall.
There have still been some issues of vandalism to businesses In the down town. Wendy will
speak to Inspector Klume on our behalf and see what can be done to increase police
presence.
Special Events:
Canada Day was a success. Karen mentioned the possibility of a car derby for next year,
Wendy was going to look into using the field behind the Rec center.
Fall Festival planning is coming along,vendors are being booked for the street and inside
Town Hall. A Dinner/Show(Rod Stewart/BeeGees) Is being planned for the evening at Town
hail.
Masood and Helen Vatandoust are organizing the Breakfast with Santa this year on behalf of
the BIA, it is scheduled for November 24, 2012.
7. CBOT: Their annual Mayor's dinner is scheduled for September 27, 2012 at Town Hall.
Everyone is welcome to attend
8. CIP: The June 21 meeting was well attended.
9, Next Meeting is September 13, 2012 at 9:30am.
