1. Attendance taken.
2. Meeting called to order at 9:35 a.m.
3. President's Report:
Valentine received a letter from the Village Concerts thanking the BIA for their contribution
to the 2012 Program.There was a discussion whether the BIA should continue to contribute
as most of the BIA businesses make their own donations, this will be discussed in the future.
4. Treasurer's Report:
The bank balance is approximately$18,000.00 and we are right on budget according to 2012
Budget.
5. Committee Reports:
Safety&Decor: Jackie is working on the quotes for the flower baskets for spring 2013.
Theresa confirmed the wreaths will be up for the Santa Parade.
Advertising:
Catherine and Brian are working on getting businesses interested in advertising on the
website. The next step for the website will be to have it"smart" phone ready.
Ann Harley is our representative on the Clarington Marketing Board, they are a small group
that would like to get funding from Council,to help promote tourism in Clarington.
Special Events:
The Santa Claus Parade is November 18 at 5:30pm. Please contact Karen if you want to
Sponsor the parade. This is a not for profit event and all donations are welcome and
necessary in order to run the parade. Contact Karen Bastas at 905`987-3747 or email

The Breakfast with Santa is all set to go on Saturday November 24 from 8am-11am. Any BIA
members that are available to help set up,serve food and tidy please meet at the Town Hall
at lam. Tickets for the breakfast are available at Keller Williams and Newcastle Horne Decor.
Tickets will also be available at the door that morning.
6. CBOT:
The next Simply Social will be December 5 from 5:30-7:30pm at a Gift of Art, please show
your support and stop by for a great evening.
7. CIP:
The Planning department is pushing for more funding for 2013.
8. New Business:
A motion was made by Theresa,and seconded by Ann to commit to the Municipality to use a
portion of the west-end money towards a streetscaping plan to be included in the 2013
Municipal budget. Motion was carried.
Theresa will be submitting a draft budget for 2013 to the Municipality, and it will be voted on
at the AGM in January.
