Attendance: Marni Lewis, Diana Stephenson, Krista Klawitter, Theresa Vanhaverbeke,Valentine Lovekin,

1. Attendance taken.
2. Meeting called to order at 9:35 a.m.
3. President's Report:
Clarington Clerks Department informed Valentine of the next meeting for the "Safe
Communities Committee" is January 24, 2013, Bowmanville Town Hall, room 1A from 3-
4:30pm, if anyone is interested in attending.
4. Treasurer's Report:
The bank balance is approximately$15,145.00, the parade money is included in that.
5. Committee Reports:
Safety & Decor: A motion by T.Vanhaverbeke was made and carried for Jackie to go ahead
and order the hanging baskets in the downtown core for next summer.
Special Events:
The Santa Claus parade was a huge success and the committee sent their sincere thanks to
everyone in the community that volunteered and made a donation. The Breakfast with Santa
was a success and the Vatandoust/Mazar team has graciously said they would organize it
again next year. Thank you on behalf of the BIA. A motion was made by T.Vanhaverbeke to
cancel the breakfast with the Easter bunny next year,due to the Town Hall being unavailable
and seconded by V. Lovekin. Carried. ,
There was a discussion about replacing the breakfast with a Scavenger Egg hunt in the
downtown businesses, further discussion on this at the February meeting.
6. CIP:
The Service signs will be replaced we are not sure when but Clarington operations are looking
into it.
7. Next Meeting is the AGM, Monday,January 14, 2013 at 6:00pm, location to be determined
8. Motion to adjourn meeting at 10:15am by Valentine,seconded by Debbie
