HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-03-08 Minutes BOARD OF MANAGEMENT BOWMANVILLE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Management held at 6:30 p. m. on Tuesday, March S, 2011 in Committee Room 1-C in the Bowmanville Library. Present: Gilpin Members: Lucas, Holmes, Seaton, Hooper, Barry Absent: Mulder, Johnston The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, who then recognized that there were no delegations present. Moved by Hooper, seconded by Barry, THAT the Minutes of the previous meeting be adopted as circulated. "CARRIED" Correspondence was received fiom OBIAA, Municipality of Clarington, Durham Region Waste Management, and Roy Prevost Moved by Seaton, seconded by Holmes, THAT the correspondence be received and filed. "CARRIED" The Treasurer presented his report as follows: Current Account $ 11,811.34 Money Market Fund #2 5,011.56 Total $ 16,822.90 Page 2 Moved by Hooper, seconded by Seaton, THAT the Treasurer's Report be adopted as presented. "CARRIED" Reports: Council Liaison: No report. Events: Lucas reported for Mulder that the plans are in place for the Easter Egg Hunt. Membership Relations: No report. Streetscape: Gilpin reported for Johnston that the Spruce Tree is willing to do the watering of the plants--a cost is yet to be determined. Communications: Holmes stated that the February Newsletter had been distributed to the members. Publications: Seaton reported that she and Parrott were working on the Spring issue of the Downtowner. She further stated that a plan to have a downtown scavenger hunt was being considered. Board of Trade: No :report. Website: Hooper suggested that the website should include business sites which are available in the downtown. He will contact Beez about this matter. Under "BUSINESS ARISING" from the previous meeting, Hooper reported that he was not aware of any updates regarding changes in the Parking in the Downtown. There was no "NEW BUSINESS". "CAKRCED" The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in Committee Room 1-C in the Powmanville Library at 6:30 p. m.
