LETTER re SUBDIVISION PROCEDURES
The Town has been advised by the Deputy Clerk of the Region that
Regional Council has passed the following resolution:
"That Subdivision Agreements and Site Plan Agreements
entered into by local municipalities prior to December
31st, 1973 be approved without additional comment by
the Region and that the Minister of Housz.ng be so adv-
ised and that the Subdivision Agreements and Site Plan
Agreements to be entered into after December 31st,1973
have the Region's statutory condition attached where
appropriate."
I have enquired into the meaning of the phrase "Regions statutory
condition" and am informed by the Regional works Department that
in respect of the site plan agreements presently being negotiated,
the only Regional requirement will be approval of the necessary
water and sewer connections. This has already been provided for in
the text of our agreements. In future all draft agreements will be
sent to the Region for their comments before they are presented to
this Committees
