ATTENDANCE: K.Bastas, T.Vanhaverbeke, J.Clapperton, S.Lawrrence, B.McCaw,

Regrets: V.Lovekin, L.Forget, J.Foxall C.Peterson, D.Miller,P.Palmer
1. The meeting was called to order by the Vice President.
2. The Santa Claus committee presented their report. The grant for the 2011
parade has been submitted. The parade raised $10,065 in sponsorship plus
button sales money. Expenses were $7,977. The surplus of $5,059 will be
applied to the next parade for expenses. More and better bands may be
hired. Motion: T. Vanhaverbeke Seconded: S.Lawrence:
The 2010 Santa Claus committee will go forward as the organizers of the
2011 parade with Karen Bastas as chairperson. CARRIED
The committee was thanked for all their dedicated efforts.
3. Approval of Nov. BIA Minutes: J.Black Seconded: S.Lawrence CARRIED
4. Treasurer Report: Balance: $14,068.58
There will be another budget meeting early in January before the AGM.
5. Committee Reports:
Urban Planning: The damaged wreaths will be fixed. The quote for flowers will
be discussed at the AGM. Trot has submitted his bill for snow clearing. Theresa
will investigate the cost of a bus shelter for the main street. A letter will be
sent to the Town requesting wheelchair parking in front of the new Drug Mart
at 100 King Ave. The area around the bollards needs to be painted yellow.
6. Chamber News: Sponsoring free skating at Newcastle Arena on Thurs.
Dec. 30 for the afternoon(12:30-3:00 p.m.) AGM is Tues. Jan.25th.
7. CBOT: Presenting education sessions in the new year.
8. New Business: Judith Clapperton announced her store, The Linea
Cupboard, is closing in January.
Our AGM is Mon. Jan. 17th at The Old Newcastle House at 6:30 p.m. The
cost is $10 pp. The balance is covered by the BIA. Gord Robinson,Willie
Woo and Wendy Partner will be our invited guests. Deliver cheque to Bob
at the Village Print Shop or Jane Black by Jan.12t". All are welcome.
There will be an election of BIA directors for the next term of office. All
positions are open for nominations(Pres. VP,,Secretary, Treasurer,
Committee Chairs-Urban Planning, Advertising, Special Events)Only one
nominator is needed. Send to the BIA Secretary by Wed. Jan. 17th.
