on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 in Courtroom #1 at 132 Church Street,
Bowmanville.
Present: Gilpin, (Tom) Ujfalussy, SNAP Publications
Members: Lucas, Seaton, Vella,Allin, Barry, Pedder
Absent: Patterson, Hooper
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, who then recognized the
following delegation: Tom Ujfalussy from SNAP Publications. Ujfalussy
reported that SNAP produced 10,000 copies which are distributed through
120 locations to Downtown Bowmanville and all of the outlying
communities in Clarington, of which 9,700 are read. For the November
issue, the deadline is October 25, and for the December issue it is November
21. The Board agreed to discuss this further under "New Business".

THAT the Minutes of the previous meeting be adopted as circulated.

Correspondence was received from the Municipality of Clarington and CBS
Group Inc.

THAT the correspondence be received and filed. "CARRIED"

Council Liaison: In the absence of Hooper, Gilpin circulated a copy of the
Schedule of Remuneration for 2010, which,had been requested by Hooper
on instructions from the Treasury Department of the Municipality.
Events: Allin reported that an advertisement had been placed in the
Clarington Visitors Guide showing the dates of the all of the BIA events in
2011 at a cost of$1,090. She concluded her report by announcing that the
Events Committee was looking for a Santa Claus for this Christmas.
Membership Relations: No report.
Streetscape: Pedder stated that the Treasurer had informed him that, to date,
our share of June Binnington's remuneration for casual labour in the
downtown was $3,000.
Communications: No report.
Publications: No report.
Board of Trade: No report.
Security/Alert: No report.
Website: Gilpin reported that Peter Parrrott had forwarded new store front

photos to CBS Group Inc. for up-dates to the Website. Pedder reported that
they are now on the Website.
Under "BUSINESS ARISING" fiom the previous meeting, which was held
on June 9, 2010--the regularly scheduled meeting for September having
been cancelled due to the lack of a quorum.
Lucas reported that Janet Lange was working on the presentation for Mr.
Mulder.
Under "NEW BUSINESS", Gilpin inquired as to how much Kooger should
receive for the work as temporary Events Coordinator. He stated that
Patterson had suggested that 25% of the final of two instalments be the
approved amount.
Moved by Allin, seconded by Pedder,
THAT Kooger be paid 25% of$8,500, or $2125, for his work as temporary
Events Coordinator, in addition to the final instalment of his Events
Facilitator honourarium.
"CAL\_R_i D"
The events for 2011 were reviewed and it was agreed that the Fabulous
Fifties Festival, featuring the annual sidewalk sale, would be renamed
"Sumrnerfest" and held on June 23, 24 and 25, 2011.
Allin then reviewed the material that Ujfalussy of SNAP Publications had
left with the Board. It was agreed not to proceed with any advertising in
this publication at this time.

THAT the Meeting be adjourned.

Committee Room 1-C in the Bowmanville Library at 6:30 p. m.
