Subject: CLARINGTON OFFICIAL PLAN

Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD-109-95 be received;
2 . THAT December 7, 1995 be set aside for a Statutory Public
Meeting of Council under the Planning Act for the
consideration of the Recommended Clarington Official Plan.
REPORT:
1. Subsequent to the directions provided by Council with respect
to the public submissions made regarding the Draft Official
Plan, Staff are now working on finalizing a Recommended
Official Plan. In addition to the directions of Council,
Staff will take into account of the comments received from
various government agencies in drafting the Recommended
Official Plan.
2 . The purpose of this Report is to request Council to confirm
the date of the Public Meeting so that notices can be served
well in advance of the meeting date.

3 . Although there is still a fair amount of work that needs to be
done, staff are committed to complete this task. In order to
do so, staff resources have been re-allocated and there will
be inevitable delay in attending to some regular works such as
the processing of development applications.
4. Under the provisions of the Planning Act, as amended by Bill
163, Council must conduct a Public Meeting in the
consideration of the Recommended Official Plan. Council
cannot make a decision at such meeting but must wait a minimum
of 14 days to adopt the Official Plan.
