1. Call to Order. Guests: Faye Langmaid & Mitch from the Town.
They presented information on signage for the area. The
CIP (Community Improvement Plan) has final approval.
All types of signs are being considered for new bylaws.
2.Approval of April Minutes:Moved: D.Hickson Second:T.Gyaltsan CARRIED
3. President's Report: There is a meeting of the Executive on May 15 at 6:00
p.m.with David Crome and Orono to discuss the allocation of funds from
the west-end development.
Volunteer Awards: Congratulations extended to Karen Bastas, Dwight
Hickson,Joanna Bastas,Chrissit Bastas, and Denis Bastas on Apr.30.
4.Treasurer's Report: Balance: $23,851.83
Present any outstanding invoices to Brenda as soon as possible so
f ?' payment is made on time.

5.Santa Claus Parade: A list of volunteers is needed for insurance purposes,
$2500 was issued on March 19th to the parade committee from the Town,
Motion: S.Lawrence Second: J.Albi
The detailed financial records of the 2005,2006,2007 Santa Claus Parades
be delivered to the BIA treasurer and a detailed Plan of Action for the
2008 parade be delivered to the BIA secretary.
Both terms are prequels for approval of the 2008 parade. CARRIED

Councillor Robinson to discuss with Nancy Taylor and Mayor
Abernathy the opportunities for the Santa Claus Parade to run
independently of the BIA with Municipal insurance. CARRIED
6. Committee Reports:
Urban Planning: All flags are not up as yet. Tenzin has spoken to Moore
Electric about this. More standards will be added to the east-end poles.
Flowers will be up the first week of dune.
Advertising: no report
Special Events: Motion: J.Albi Second: K.Bastas CARRIED
Approve the Plan of Action for the Lemonade Sale with $700 budget.
Greek Night: Sun June 1't Proceeds to Bowmanville Hospital

Chamber Trade Show-Thurs. June 51h 6-9 p.m.
Lemonade Sale: Sat. June 141h 9a.m.—3 p.m.

7. Councillor Robinson reported the CIP has passed.
Farmer's Market opens Sunday,June 0.
Road cleanup of garbage was done by volunteers in April.
8. Chamber News: There will be networking each month at different businesses.
Next networking: May 26 at Mill St. Bistro
Web page is successful. All members receive monthly updates
and regular notices of upcoming events.
