Santa Claus Parade Committee Chair
The procedures for decisions and expenditures were discussed and formalized.
Information is to be brought to the general membership.
The permits and road closure requests have been faxed to the Town.
Police, Fire, Go and Durham Transit have been informed.
There is a meeting on Nov. 1 at 4:00 p.m. with Town Operations and Martha.
There is a need for a Santa float and parade marshals. Lions will sell buttons.
30 vests have been ordered for parade volunteers.
Staging area will again be up King Ave. to Riddell Road.
The grant of$2000 from the Town & $100 from Clark Chiropractic was passed to the Treasurer.
There will be a reconciliation of donations and expenses and a report will be submitted by Martha
for last year's parade. Expenses include bands, fireworks, Santa, buttons and signs.
Donations are recognized in the program and the Town issues tax receipts.
All moneys will be deposited in the BIA account and cheques issued accordingly.
Martha will attend the Nov. 8`h general meeting and give a report.

THE NEWCASTLE BIA SPONSORS THE 3RD ANNUAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE
ON NOV.25 AT 5:30 P.M. CARRIED
2. Tenzin brought forward a letter from D.Crome, Director of Planning, regarding the $200,000
to be received from the west end developers.
There is to be an agreement reached between Orono and Newcastle for the allocation of funds by
Dec.31" or Council will make the decision.
It was suggested by the executive that the allocation of money be based on revenue received from
downtown businesses/owners and the amount of business space in square metres.
3. At this time there will be no finds forthcoming from the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce.

BIA continue with the upcoming special events and fund accordingly. CARRIED
4. J. Black is resigning as the BIA representative for the Clarington Board of Trade.
Motion: B. Metcalf Seconded: A.Turnball
{ Tenzin Gyaltsan will be the new BIA representative for CBOT. CARRIED
5. Anthony will count the wreaths and lights for the BIA inventory.
(7-, A list of all BIA items will be compiled for the Town insurance purposes.
6. Karen will lay the wreath for the Remembrance Day service on Nov. 11th.
7. Other matters will be brought to the general membership on Nov. 81h.
