Presentation was made to Charlie Trim which he accepted gracefully.
President's Report Valentine Lovekin
Lovekin touched on events through the year which he felt'deserved mention.
Both are events that point to future challenges, First the Newcastle Sesquicentennial and
second the Municipality of Clarington's negotiations on a settlement to the BIA'S of
Bowmanville, Orono, & Newcastle.
Lovekin recommended we reflect on increasing our membership by an expansion of the
BIA boundaries to include businesses one block north and one block south of the
downtown core. A course to consider for the future.

The following members allowed their names to be put forward to serve on the Board of
Management of the Newcastle BIA:

Nominations from the floor were asked three times and the Chairman closed with
approval of the Acts of the Executive for the previous year.

Welcome was extended to Councillor Gord Robinson as new representative for the
Newcastle BIA.
