RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD -279 -89 be received.
2. THAT Report PD- 235 -89 be lifted from table.
3. THAT Mr. J. Bodurka's request to close the rezoning
application file be acknowledged and that application
DEV 89 -77 be closed; and
4. THAT the Region of Durham Planning Department and those
persons listed in this report be advised of Council's
decision.

1. BACKGROUND
1.1 On May 26, 1989 the Planning and Development Department
received an application to amend the Town of Newcastle
Comprehensive Zoning by -law 84 -63 from Mr. J. Bodurka to
permit a six (6) unit apartment building on a 791 sq.metres

(8514 sq.ft.) parcel of land in Pt. Lot 11, Concession 1,
former Town of Bowmanville (5 Argyle Street).
1.2 On October 16, 1989 Council passed a resolution which stated
that "Report PD- 235 -89 be tabled for a period of 3 to 6
months ".
1.3 On October 25, 1989 the Town of Newcastle Planning Staff
received a letter from the applicants agent stating that the
applicant no longer wishes to proceed with the proposal and
that it is his wish that the file be closed.
