It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report PD- 225 -89 be received;
2. THAT By -law 86 -112; being a By -law to establish a Street Name Map and Street
Name Inventory in the Town of Newcastle be amended to change the name of Orchard
Heights Drive within Plan 1OM -827 to Reznick Drive; and
3. THAT Council authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute the amending by -law
attached hereto.
1. STAFF COMMENTS:
1.1 The purpose of the name change is to facilitate the establishment of
house numbers for Plan 1OM -827, taking into account the house numbering
scheme already in existence on Orchard Heights Drive, west of Arthur
Street. This change would not require any house number changes for the
existing homes on Orchard Heights Drive, west of Arthur Street.

1.2 The owner and the builder affected by this name change have been
contacted and they have no objections to this change as proposed.
Staff would confirm that building permits have not been issued for the
lots on "Ucobacd Heights Drive" within Plan 10M_827.
1.3 Plan 10M-827 is located within the Village of Newcastle, east of Arthur
street and north of Highway 0o. 2.
2, IONS:
2^1 in consideration of the above, Staff would have no objection to the name

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
BY -LAW NUMBER 89-
being a by -law to amend By -law 86 -112, being a by -law to
establish a street name map and a street name inventory
for roads in the Town of Newcastle
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle deems it expedient to
amend the street name map and street name inventory for roads in the Town
of Newcastle;
AND WHEREAS such street name map and street name inventory establishes am
official name for all improved roads and those unimproved roads which
receive summer maintenance and are included in the Roads Needs Study for
the Town of Newcastle;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED as a by -law for the Town of Newcastle as
follows:

1. Schedule "A" the street name map, and schedule "B" the street name
inventory, be amended to:
a) change the name of the road on Registered Plan 1OM -827 from
"Orchard Heights Drive" to "Reznick Drive ".
BY -LAW read a first time this day of 1989
BY -LAW read a second time this day of 1989
BY -LAW read a third time and finally passed this day of
1989.
