TO: Councillor Maurice Prout & Members of the
Community Services Committee
FROM: Thomas A. Fanning, R. D. M. R.
Director, Department of Community Services
DATE: August 9th, 1979
SUBJECT: Elliott Memorial Park (Hapton)
The Director of Community Services met with Mr.
Rick Clow, Supervisor for the Central Lake
Ontario Conservation Authority on Wednesday,
August 1st, 1979 at 2:00 p. m, at Elliott Memorial
Park.
According to Rick Clow, C.L.O.C.A. ,intendsto develop
park entrance on Scugbg Street in the near future.
However, at the present time, cars are parked on
both sides of the street and this is a traffice
problem.
In my own opinion, I do not feel that the entrance
would be a good parking area. In past years they
have had problems with cars entering and leaving.
The area of land on Mill Street on the south side
of the park could be developed into a parking lot.
Possibility of thirty (30) to thirty-five (35) cars
would be able to park there. This area needs to
be graded and leveled with gravel.
According to Per. Clow, his department would develop
this area on request from Town Council. He also
mentioned that they could use the parking area beside
the Mill House.
Would recommend that Councillor Ann Cowman and
Councillor Jasper Holliday recommend to C.L.O.C.A.
that the area on the south side of the park be
developed into a parking lot. ,y''
