SANTA CLAUS PARADE - MINUTES OF MEETING
October 26, 2010
Start Time: 7:00 p.m. End Time: 8:20 p.m.
Attendance: Roger Letooze, Kathy McLaughlin, Robin Lacey, Terryl Tzikas,
Janine Comeau, Jen Ashby, Dawn Longmire, Tracey Bayley-Buckle, Allison Dart,
Regrets: Marie Hammond
Previous Minutes from October 12, 2010 were accepted with one change Motion

Terry[ Tzikas — (Acting) Chairperson
• Received a letter from Municipality asking if we would like a By-Law Officer on day of
parade for a cost of$152.37, declined by Committee
• Terryl will contact Mark McCormack regarding Traffic
KATHY MCLAUGHLIN — Publicity
• Costume Ad will be in paper on October 27, 2010
• Left a message with Kevin Anyan for Parade Announcer. He will call back
• Spoke with Fire Chief and he will not be able to attend this year but will send Mark
Hersey (Deputy Fire Chief and his car)
• Have requested 6 Walkie Talkies from Fire Hall, will call back week of November 15 to
confirm and to make sure they are charged
TRACEY BAYLEY-BUCKLE — Make Up
• Firehall is booked
• Road sign has been sent to printer and will be up soon
• Does not require any new make up this year
• Two woman are booked to help along with some High School students for makeup
• Will help with Costume handout on November 7th
• Robin will purchase juice at Loblaws
MARIE HAMMOND — Treasurer
• Terryl reported for Marie
• Donations are coming in.
• Four vehicles reserved at Roy Nichols
JEN ASHBY— Bands
• Eight Bands booked
• Whitby Brass
• Bowmanville Legion Pipe Band and Color Party
• Clarington Concert Band
• Central Public School
• Concert Band of Cobourg
• Kendal Fife and Drum
• Bowmanville High School Band
• Trump N Bit
• Durham Regional Police Pipe Band will not be attending
DAWN LONGMIREIROBIN LACEY— Buttons, Costumes
• Santa suit has been ordered
• New Costumes have arrived already, there will be three more Penquins, 3 Snowflakes
and she redid Jack Sparrows Jacket and a new blouse
• Graydon Brown to pull Santa Float
• Sound check set up with Graydon and will be looked at during Costume Pick up day
• Totes have been purchased
• Hoodies are ordered and buttons ordered should be in next week
ROGER LETOOZE —Judging/Posters/Rogers Cable/Buttons and Button boxes
• Twenty new markers made
• Roger to contact Webpage Company and change contact information
JANINE COMEAU — Floats and Fillers
• Has five fillers and six floats so far for parade
• Still waiting to Dear from others from last year
• Will contact Teens for Teens
• Dave has called the Auxiliary Police and they will bring approximately 20
ALLISON DART - Incoming Treasurer
• Still looking for a Canopy
• Donation letters next year will advise people to drop off cheques at Royal Bank in
. Bowmanville. Kathy to put this in letter for next year's parade.
TED WALTON -- Bowmanville Legion
• Is seeking volunteers at the Legion to sell buttons
• There will be more sellars on Liberty Street
• May need more hats will let us know
• His new phone number is 905-987-4809
TOM LENAHAN — Santa
• Thanks to Tom for helping us out this year
• Dawn will draw up Instructions for him
