SAN'T'A CLAUS PARADE - MINUTES OF MEETING
November 6, 2006
Start Time: 7:10 PM Finish Time: 8:35 PM
Attendance: Valerie McCormick, Dawn Longmire, Kathy McLaughlin, Sheri Crago,
Tracy Bayley-Buckle,Roger Letooze,Debbie Fernandes
Absent: Marie Hammond
Previous Minutes were accepted by Roger Seconded by Terryl after all corrections from
previous minutes are corrected.

❖ Under New Business— "Roger mentioned that 2011 would be the 5e
parades
❖ Under New Business— "His wife would like to do a book on the History
of Parade,someone from Committee will contact her and speak to her
about this'
VALERIE McCORNHCK—Chairperson
• Valerie has met with Jim from Legion and forwarded him a cheque for$250,00
and has receipt for Marie
• She has picked up two cheques dropped off at RBC in Bowmanville from
Douglas S. James Management Ltd and Pita Pit-will give cheques to Marie
• Val has received calls from businesses who received their donation letters late and
were afraid that they would not be on our program they are:
• Valiant Property Management
• OPG Darlington
• Royal Bank
• Skylight Donuts
• 'Wallace Auto Supply

• The Pita Pit
• Val has asked Terryl to please change the contact person for OPG from Penny to
Scott Berry and Vanesa Hughes.
• Roger and Val have picked up the Button Boxes and they look great. Total cost
$256.50 Val has bill for Marie
• Tracy and Val have replaced the skirt on the front of our Float at a cost of$10.25
will forward bill to Marie
• Mark and Matthew have changed the wheels on the walking skirts at a cost of
$129.88 will forward bill to Marie.
• Val had an interview with Harvey Currell from the Toronto Sun. The article will
appear in the Nov. 15'h issue and will be in the Travel Section
• Debbie had spoken to Harley Owners Group about their Logos. Val has followed
up and had a discussion with Steve Robinson. He will discuss the logos at their
meeting this week and get back to Val as to whether they will be in the parade this
year.
MARIE HAMMOND—Treasurer
• No Report -Absent
TRACY BAYLEY-BUCKLE Makeup
• Make up people are all set
• She advertised at Costume pick up day and received two more volunteers
• Tracy now has ten volunteers
DEBBIE FERNANDES—Floats and Fillers
• Debbie has received 20 floats and 12 fillers
• She will be calling people that are normally in parade just to give a reminder
• There are 13 floats/fillers with music out of 32
DAWN LONGMME—Buttons, Costumes
• Costume handout went well
• There are three flag carriers left
• 20 Clown costumes left
• Buttons still in progress
• She has red hats for traffic control volunteers
• New walking skirts have been completed
ROGER LEETOOZE —Judging/Posters/Rogers Cable/Buttons and Button boxes
• Quarry Lakes and Ayren Links have five carts, and Bob Towing will be picking
these up at a cost of$40.00 to cover gas
® He will require a cheque for this.
• Boxes are completed
• Cable TV—he has left two voice messages and has not heard back would like
confirmation
® Place ad in Curious Shopper regarding parade for next year—noted by Kathy
• Website forms—certain words to be capitalized
• Roger has three judges booked
TERRYL TZIKAS —Secretary
• Waiting to hear back from Bev Oda
• BIA to do clean up
• OVERT playing phone tag —Will contact before parade
• Permit is completed
• Terry] will follow up with Bev Oda to see if she will be in the parade
KATHY MCLAUGHLIN—Publicity
• There was an ad in paper regarding costumes
• Has contacted CKDO and KX 96 regarding announcement during parade week
SHERI CRAGO-Bands
• Has spent$5,900 this year, cost has gone up now that Oshawa Legion Pipe Band
will be in parade
• Clarington Concert Band will not be in parade(lost float),and Emily Stowe
School will also not be in parade
• Sheri has 10 bands booked
• Three pipe bands: Bowmanville Legion, Oshawa Legion and Durham Regional
Police Pipe Band
NEW BUSINESS:
• Wrap up meeting will be November 29`h at Bobby C's:
• Meeting 6:15 p.m.
• Dinner 7:15 p.m
• Val will invite Mike and Doug and Santa and his wife to join us for dinner
at 7:15 p.m,
