HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-12-01 Minutes SANTA CLAUS PARADE - MINUTES OF MEETING December 1, 2009 Wrap Up Meeting Start Time: 6:30 p.m. ► End Time: 7:30 p.m. Attendance: Roger Letooze, Kathy McLaughlin, Val McCormick, Debbie Fernandes, Terryi Tzlkas, Janine Comeau, Jen Ashby, Dawn Longmire, Tracey Bayley-Buckle, Marie Hammond, Dawn Longmire ❖ Previous Minutes from November 27, 2009 were accepted Motiom made by Terryl Seconded by Marie Ab In favour- Passes VAL MCCORMECK - Chairperson C Parade went well • Ad in Rules that there will be no Hand Outs, if we remain non-commercial • Municipality - Permit for Streets, Municipality has never heard that • By-Law Officer will get back to us on handouts, only on road as opposed to street. Val will follow up with an email to committee • Suggestion for Buttons - talk to zoo and mention that any child that is comes to zoo wearing a button this child will get in free to zoo - Zoo can put an ad in paper regarding this. • Another suggestion - change program to three pages adding in coupons from Businesses • May require a new�headset for Santa. Headset was not working again on Parade day • Skating Club had shirts on with Advertising Police did a great job this year. KATHY MCLAUGHLIN — Publicity • Thought Parade Day went great • Thank you in paper TRACEY BAYLEY-BUCKLE Make Up • Make up went well • legion member mentioned to her that Police did not salute when walking by them. MARIE HAMMOND - Treasurer • Button sales were $8,011.01 Veridian has confirmed to her that they will donate $1,000.00 • There was a special button in the parade Marie will submit the application for the 2010 Grant JEN ASHBY - Bands • Parade went well • Food drive at end of Parade next year (suggestion) • Everyone thought Jen did a great job this year DAWN LONGMIRE - Buttons, Costumes • Discussion on where to have drop off (maybe clearer on forms), check rules to see if there • Button seller on liberty Street were scarce and had no programs • Dawn will require a walkle Talkie for next parade • Need more aggressive Button Sellers • Make up was great • Theme next year - bring to Spring Meeting ROGER LETOOZE - Judging/Posters/Rogers Cable/Buttons and Button boxes • Two boxes of buttons left over did not sell 20% of programs not handed out • Put some of our people with legion to sell buttons TERRYL TZIKAS - Secretary • Parade went well • Committee to attend Seminar on Disabilities Ontario 42917 DEBBIE FERNANDES -- Floats and Fillers a Parade went well JANINE COMEAU — Pacers Teens for Teens kept slowing parade a All here volunteers had a great time ® will require approximately 12 or 13 a looking at someone to take over trafflce control • put students at corners on Liberty Street Next Meeting: Tuesday February 23, 2010 TBD 7:00 p.m.
