Director of Engineering Services MM/LAB/ld REPORT NO.: COO.Q20-05 PAGE 2 BACKGROUND AND COMMENT Council at the meeting of February 28, 2005, authorized staff to proceed with the advertising and issue of this tender in advance of the 2005 Capital Budget Approval. Tender specificalions were provided by Totten Sims Hubicki Associates for the Hunt Street/Albert Street Reconstruction and Duke Street Improvements, as required by the Engineering Department. Tenders were advertised in local papers, as well as eleclronically, Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as per Schedule "B" attached. The total bid price includes works for the Regional Municipality of Durham for which Ihey will be invoiced accordingly. The Iota I project cost, including Project Administration, and costing allocation is as detailed in the letter from Totten Sims Hubicki Associates, marked Schedule "C" and will be provided from the Engineering Capilal Project #5800-8310-04104 as carried over from 2004 and #5800-8310- 05112 as provided in the 2005 Capital Budget. The additional funds required in the amounl of $230,200,00 for the Hunt Street Subdivision portion will be provided by Ihe developer and have been confirmed, The low bidder has previously performed salisfactory work for the Municipality of Clarington. The Director of Finance has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc., should be referred to the Director of Engineering. After further review and anaiysis of the bids by the Engineering Department, Totten Sims Hubicki Associales and Purchasing, it was mutually agreed that the low bidder, Ron Robinson Limited, Bowmanville, Ontario, be recommended for the contracl for Ihe Hunt Street/Albert Slreet Reconslruction and Duke Street Improvemenls.
