Barrie Resolution #C-497-03 Moved by Councillor Rowe, seconded by Councillor Schell THAT the meeting be "closed" in order to discuss a personal matter. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-498-03 Moved by Councillor Schell, seconded by Councillor Robinson WHEREAS the Municipality of Clarington is well documented for its rich athletic history and specifically renowned for its hockey heritage; and WHEREAS the Municipality of Clarington supports and promotes its tourism opportunities and deems it desirable to pursue new tourism opportunities; and . . . Special Council Minutes September 26, 2003 - 2 - WHEREAS the Municipality of Clarington has been provided an opportunity to support its hockey heritage and raise the profile of our Community by acquiring the rights to The Brian McFarlane Hockey Museum: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves, in principle, the acquisition of The Brian McFarlane Hockey Museum and its associated assets; and THAT the Chief Administrative Officer and staff be authorized to negotiate all necessary details to effect the acquisition of The Brian McFarlane Hockey Museum and its associated assets. "CARRIED" CONFIRMING BY-LAW Resolution #C-499-03 Moved by Councillor MacArthur, seconded by Councillor Pingle THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law 2003-140 being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Municipality of Clarington at this special meeting held on the 26th day of September 2003, and that the said by-law be now read a first and second time.
