Sherry Beuerman, Marketing Director - Durham Site, CIBC Run for
the Cure, requesting Council's permission to hang the Canadian
Breast Cancer Foundation street banner at Highway #2 and
Regional Road 57. The CIBC Run for the Cure is on Sunday,
October 5, 2003, at 10:00 a.m.

Jennine Agnew-Kata, Executive Director, Literacy Network of
Durham Region, requesting Council to proclaim the week of
September 8 to September 15, 2003, as International Adult
Learner's Week. Almost 50% of Canadians struggle with words
and numbers. This statistic means that many of the people in our
community are not able to learn about or take advantage of the
products and services available in our community.

Walt Gibson, Organizer, Clarington Terry Fox Run, requesting
Council's permission to hold the Terry Fox Run on Sunday,
September 14, 2003, in Bowmanville. Mr. Gibson is also
requesting that Council proclaim the week of September 8, 2003,
as Terry Fox Week in Clarington.

THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law 2003-121 being a
by-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Municipality
of Clarington at this meeting held on the 8th day of September
2003, and that the said by-law be now read a first and second time.
