TENDER CL2004-40 2005 TREE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee
recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report COD-007 -05 be received;
2, THAT Tender CL2004-40 be awarded to The Wilderness Group, Wawa, Ontario, for the
provision of all labour, material and equipment required for the 2005 Tree Maintenance
Program at an estimated cost of $35,947,00, plus GST;
3. THAT the funds in the amount of $35,947.00 be drawn as follows:
a) $30,000.00 from the 2005 Parks Maintenance Account #100-36-325-10115-
7163; and
b) $6,000.00 from the 2005 Brush Removal - Other Professional Fees Account
#100-36-380-10230-7161.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
Tenders were publicly advertised and invited for the provision of all labour, material and
equipment required for the 2005 Tree Maintenance Program required by the Operations
Services Department. Tenders were received and tabulated as per Schedule "A" attached.
The required funds for this acquisition total $35,947.00 (plus GST) and exceed the 2005
Operating Budget allocation of $30,000,00. It is recommended that the additional funds needed
to complete this purchase be drawn from the 2005 Operating Brush Removal Account # 100-36-
380-10230-7161.
The Finance Director has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs with the
recommendation. Queries with respect to department needs, specifications, etc., should be
referred to the Director Operations.
Aithough the subject firm has not provided service for the Municipality of Clarington to date,
they do come highiy recommended by Provincial agencies who have utilized The Wilderness
Group for similar services.
