In a conversation with Mr. Jim Walker of the Ajax Recreation Department
who supplied the following information.
They have rented a room in the Ajax Community Centre for the past five (5)
years at a rental fee of $23.50 per hour. The group renting does their
own cleaning of any mess which might occur. The group set and collect
their own registration fees and they operate from 7:00 p. m. to 10:00 P. m.
oneevening per week.
I called the schools in Bowmanville and the only one which showed
interest was the Waverley Road School but not until the fall of 1981.
The undersigned contacted tlr. Bruce Lush of the 13ow-anville Lions Club
on the possibilities of using part of their facility. Mr. Lush informed
me that arrangements could be made for the use of the Scout Hall. I
contacted AZrs. Miller with this information and she informed me that she
would contact Air. Lush to talk over the use of the facility. I
called Mrs. :,filler on Tuesday, I-Tarch 10th as to what her intentions were.
She informed me that a letter has been sent to the Lions Club asking
to operate this programme at the Lions Centre. As of TMarch 10th she
has received no reply.
A4r. Bruce Lush informed me today that it will be brough up at a Lions
Club Meeting on Thursday, March 12th, 1981.
Respectfully submitted,
