Dear Mr. McMullen:
RE: TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTION OF TAUNTON ROAD AND REGIONAL ROAD 34,
MITCHELL CORNERS AND AT TAUNTON ROAD AND OLD SCUGOG ROAD, HAMPTON
I have been directed by Council to review the need for traffic signals at the
above two intersections.
It would be appreciated if you would review the warrants, etc, for the traffic
signals at these two intersections and provide me with your findings. I
will then report your findings to the Council of the Town of Newcastle.
Attached is a petition signed by the residents of the Community of Hamton
regarding he intersection at Taunton Road and Old Scugog Road.
Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Yours very truly

Please quote our ref: Re: Traffic Signal Warrants at
Regional Road 4/Regional Road 34 North
Regional Road 4/0ld Scu og Road
TRA-RR34-STY Your request for a review of traffic volumes at the above
rioted intersections to determine the need for traffic
control signals has been received.
Theses intersections were analyzed in 1986 and 1987. At
that time, minimum warrants for signals were only 50
per cent fulfilled.
As part of the Region's 1989 spring count program, the
noted intersections will be included for further study.
We will advise you of the results.
