RENAMING OF INGLIS AVENUE TO INGLIS COURT
AND THE AMENDMENT OF BY-LAW 86-112
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration!
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report WD-50-89 be received; and
2. THAT By-law 86-112, being a by-law to establish a Street Name Map and
Street Name Inventory in the Town of Newcastle be ammended to
change the name of Inglis Avenue to Inglis Court from Yorkville Drive
to a point approximately 60 metres north of Yorkville Drive.
3. THAT Council authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute a by-law to
amend By-Law 86-112, being a by-law to establish the Street Name Map
and Street Name Inventory in the 'Town of Newcastle
1.0 REPORT
1.1 The Public Works Department has reviewed a matter regarding the renaming
of Inglis Avenue to Inglis Court.

1.2 Inglis Avenue is located in Courtice, south of Highway #2 between
Prestonvale Road and Trulls Road in the Courtice Heights South
Development, 1OM-821, (see Attachment No.1) .
1.3 The purpose of this name change is to conform to the commonly accepted
street naming conventions whereby a court is defined as ending in a
bulb, T, or other design which permits turning around. (See Attachment No.2)
1.4 There are no owners of ,the lots affected by this name change.
2.0 RECOMMENDATION
2.1 It is, therefore, recommended that Inglis Avenue be renamed Inglis Court
and that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to add Inglis Court to
By-Law 86-112, being a by-law to establish the Street Name Map and
Street Name Inventory in the Town of Newcastle.
