Minutes of a regular meeting of Council held in
the Newcastle Town Hall at 1:00 p.m. on Monday,
April 15th, 1974.

Newcastle Mr. Doug Wright appeared before Council with reference
Horticultural to a request of the Newcastle Horticultural Society for
Society a grant. Mr. Wright suggested $100.00.

Bell 'Mr. Robertson of Bell Canada made a presentation to Council
Canada relative to the investment by the Company in the municipality
Limited and also explained a system whereby taxpayers in the
municipality could call the various municipal buildings toll
free.

Motor Mr. Mike Austin appeared before Council with reference
Cycle to his application to hold Motor Cycle Races near
Races Highways 115 and Highway 35.

Ramp a public launching ramp on the East side of the harbour

THAT the Planning Advisory Committee be requested to
investigate and find out what rights the municipality
had.

Mr. Alex Carruthers, M.P.P. , addressed Council relative
to the condition of the roads in the former Village of
ri,ewcastle with regard to the sewer contract. Mr. Carruthers
also spoke on behalf of Brooking Transport Companyts request
to enlarge their business premises in a residential area.

Newcastle Mr. B. Rickard appeared before Council on behalf of

bills and also a $12,000 payment for kitchen construction.
