Lamb Street WHEREAS Thomas Shea and Margaret T. Shea and Andries
Closing Hiemstra and Pietje Hiemstra, the owners of lands
adjoining that pare. of Lamb Street running northerly
from Concession Street to the Canadian Pacific
Railway, have applied to Council to have that part
.of Lamb Street lying between their properties closed
and have agreed to pay the costs in connection therewith.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
Corporation of the Town of Newcastle as follows:
1. That the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
make application to the County Judge of the
Judicial District of Durham pursuant to the provisions .
of The Registry Act to close that part of Lamb
Street lying northerly of Concession Street and
southerly of the Canadian Pacific Railway running
between lots l in Block 3 and lot 5 in Block 2
according to Hannings Plan of the Town of BowmanvilleR '
2. That 'the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign --- -_

closed by Order of the County Judge the Mayor and
Clerk be and are hereby authorized to sign and
execute deeds of one-half of the said closed-up
part of Lamb Street to the respective adjoining
owners.

Road Closings WHEREAS The Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville was
of Industrial the owner of certain lands on the east side of Simpson
Lands on Avenue being part of original Township lot 10 in the
the East Side Broken Front Concession as shown on the Smart Estate
of Simpson plan lying southerly of the Canadian National Railway.

Short Farm AND WHEREAS the said Town of Bowmanville did convey
a certain part of the said lands for the establishment
of industry and the said lands so conveyed and the other
lands owned by the Town included certain allowances for
roads and streets as shown on the said Smart Estate Plan.
AND WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Town
of Bowmanville did by Resolution No. 0644-73 passed on
the 2nd day of October, 1973, authorized an application
to the County Judge of the County Court for the United
Counties of Northumberland and Durham to close the s4id
allowances for streets and lanes more particularly described
in Schedule "A" attached hereto.
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the Regional Municipality of Durham
Act 1973, the Town of Bowmanville was amalgamated with other
Municipalities as a Town Municipality bearing the name
of The Corporation of the Town of Newcastle,
AND WHEREAS the Council for The Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle is desirous of malting an application to the
County Judge of the Judicial District of Durham to close
the said allowances for streets and lanes and to convey
the said streets and lanes when closed to adjacent owners.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle make
application to the County Judge of the Judicial District
of Durham pursuant to the provisions of The Registry Act,
to close the said parts of streets and lanes as shown on
the smart Estate Plan, more particularly described in
Schedule "A" attached hereto.

2. That the Mayor and the Clerk be authorized to sign all
necessary documents and take the required action in
connection with the said application.
3. That the Mayor and Clerk be and are hereby authorized
to sign and execute conveyances of those parts of the said
streets and lanes upon there being closed by Order of the
County Judge as are possessed by the Leroy Burk Short and
Riznek Construction Limited in favour of the said Leroy
Burk Short and Riznek Construction Limited.

premises, situate, lying and being in the Town of Newcastle,
in the Regional Municipality of Durham, formerly the Town
of Bowmanville, in the County of Durham and being those
parts of Smart Avenue, Armour Avenue, 2nd Street, 3rd Street
and 4th Street and other lanes and streets according to
the Smart .Estate Plan of Subdivision of part of Township
Lot 9 in the Broken Front Concession made by L.H. Short,
P.L.S. and dated the 4th day of May, 1858, more particularly
described as follows:
1. Smart Avenue running southerly from the Canadian National
Railway right-of-way to the north limit of 2nd Street.
2. Armour Avenue running southerly from the Canadian National
Railway right-of-way to the extension easterly of the south
limit of 4th Street.
3. All that part of 4th Street running easterly from Simpson
Avenue to Armour Street.
4. Two lanes undesignated by n«me, letter or number running
southerly from the Canadian National Railway through Blocks
S and R to 4th Street.
5. Lane undesignated by name, letter or number running

Tru»Wall WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville did convey
Concrete to Tru-Wall Concrete Forming Limited for the establishment of
Road industry Part 1 on Reference Plan 1OR 251 deposited on October
Closing 29th, 1973 and being part of Block P and a laneway in said Block
P, part of George Street and John Street, part of Block 0, all
according to the Smart Estate Plan and part of the unsubdivided
part of Township Lot 10 in the Broken Front Concession.
AND WHEREAS it was subsequently discovered that the laneway in
Block P according to the said Smart Estate Plan shown within
the boundaries of Part 1 according to Reference Plan lOR 251 was
not formally closed and Tru--Wall Concrete Forming Limited has
applied to The Corporation of the Town of Newcastle, the
successor Municipal Corporation to The Corporation of the Town
of Bowmanville, to have the said Town make formal application
under the provisions of The Registry Act to close the said
laneway in Block P and deed it to Tru-Wall Concrete Forming
Limited.
AND WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
is desirous of making the said application to close the said
laneway and convey it to Tru-Wall Concrete Forming Limited.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle make application
to the County Judge of the Judicial District of Durham pursuant
to the provisions of The Registry Act, to close that part of
the laneway in Block P according to the Smart Estate Plan of
Subdivision made by L. H. Short, P.L.S. , dated the 4th day of
May, 1858 running northerly from Fourth Street to the Service
Road and being all that part of the said laneway shown on Part
1, Reference Plan 251, deposited on the 29th day of October,
1973.

has been formally closed by Order of the said Judge.

Port Hope WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville conveyed
Ready Mix certain land lying immediately south of the Canadian National
Depot Railway in Township lot 10 in the Broken Front Concession to
Street Edwin George Lacey and Joseph John Cleary for the establishment
Closing of industry.
AND WHEREAS there was included in the said conveyance part of
Depot Street lying southerly of Blocks 21 and 22 as shown. on
Short's Plan of Subdivision of the Smart Estate more particularly
described in Schedule "A" attached hereto.
AND WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville did agree
to close the said part of Depot Street and convey it to Port
Hope Ready Mix Limited, the present owners of the said lands
and premises.
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the Regional Municipality of Durham Act
1973, the Town of Bowmanville was amalgamated with other
municipalities as a Tom Municipality bearing the name of
The Corporation of the Town of Newcastle.
AND 14HEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle is desirous of making an application under the
provisions of The Registry Act to close the said part of Depot
Street.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle make application
to the County Judge of the Judicial District of Durham pursuant
to the provisions of the Registry Act, to close the said part
of Depot Street, more particularly described in Schedule "A"
attached hereto.
2. That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign all necessary
documents and take the required action in connection with the
said applications.

conveyance of the closed-up part of Depot Street upon the
issuing of the order closing the said part of street.
