Arena Mayor Rickard explained the present status of the
project to Mr. Shackelton.
Mr. W. Bagnell Mx. W. Bagnell appeared before Council to state his
re Swimming opinion that a swimming pool be built in the near
Pool future, as in his opinion there is such a great need
for such a pool.

Police THAT the Clerk make arrangements to have the
Commission accommodation used by the Police Commission in the
Rental of Court Building measured by an appraiser to compute
Space a rental per square foot to also cover Janitor
Service, heating and air conditioning, and, if in
the opinion of the Mayor and Clerk the charge
appears satisfactory, a letter be sent to the Police
Commission with a copy of the appraisal stating that
Council is prepared to lease the accommodation and
that the Mayor and Clerk be authorised to execute
the document.

Bell THAT a letter be sent to Bell Canada asking them to
Canada update the service in the Region of Durham and
Toll particularly in the Town of Newcastle where telephone
Charges customers must pay a toll charge to make certain calls
within the municipality and where there is no direct
dialing service such as in Newtonville and that a
copy of the letter be sent to the Regional Council and
to the Board of Transport Commissioners.
