SUBJECT: Soccer Pitch - Bowmanville Memorial Hospital Grounds The Bowmanville United Soccer Club were interested in a (Squirt) soccer pitch to be located in the Soper Creek Park Extension. The amount of ($200.00) was included in account number 7603-402-000, Mechanical Equipment (Capital) . The Bowmanville Soccer Club was not satisfied with the Soper Creek Annex field and requested use of the field at the Bowmanville Hospital. Between Councillor Maurice Prout and the Bowmanville United Soccer Club, permission was granted to use the Hospital Field. The Hospital would look after the grass cutting. As they were in dire straits for another soccer pitch, the Department received two (2) used goal posts from the" Newcastle/Northumberland School Board, to be installed on the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital Field. Mayor Rickard, Councillor Prout and the Director of Community Services attended several meetings with members of the Bowmanville United Soccer Club who, requested use of Soper Creek Annex for a pitch po'ssibily the Hospital Grounds. Project Cost: Labour - 15 hrs. at $3.60 per hr.
