RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report WD-50-90 be received for information.

2 . 1 At a meeting held on February 15, 1990, the General Purpose and
Administration Committee passed Resolution #GPA-108-90:
"THAT the Director of Works review and report on the
possibility of improving the Sandringham exit onto
Highway #2 . "

3.0 REVIEW AND COMMENT

3 . 1 The intersection of Sandringham Drive and Highway No.2 is
under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transportation.
3.2 The Ministry was advised of the concern raised about insufficient
visibility for northbound vehicles on Sandringham Drive turning
onto Highway No.2 .
3 . 3 Attachment No.2 is a copy of the reply from the Ministry which is
self explanatory.
4.0 RECOMMENDATION
4 . 1 It is, therefore, recommended that this report be received for
information.

Re: Intersection of Sandringham Drive and Highway
No. 2, Courtice, Township of Darlington,
Concession 2, Lot 32
In response to
p your letter to Mr. C.R. Arbuckle, dated 90 03 01
concerning the possibility of improving the Sandringham Drive exit
onto Highway # 2 the Ministry has reviewed the sight line distances
and other geometric design features of this intersection. It was
found that northbound vehicles turning onto Highway 2 have adequate
visibility and the intersection meets our design standards. We also
have no records of accidents at this intersection since it was
opened in 1987, however, our Traffic Section will be conducting a
traffic count at both Sandringham Drive and Prestonvale Road. At
this time the Ministry has no improvements scheduled for
Sandringham Drive.
