3 .0 REVIEW AND COMMENT
3 . 1 Reconstruction of Regional Road 55
Townline Road from Olive Avenue/Kingswood Drive to
Taunton Road is a Regional Road (Regional nal Road 55) . The
Region's 1990 Capital Budget and Four Year Forecast
provides for the reconstruction of Townline Road as
follows:
1. From Olive Avenue/Kingswood Drive northerly to
Highway No. 2 (King Street) in 1990 .
2 . From Highway No. 2 (King Street) to
Adelaide Avenue in 1991.
3. From Adelaide Avenue to Taunton Road
in 1992 .
3 .2 Improvements for Safety to Pedestrians
3.2 . 1 Safety for pedestrians on a roadway can be improved by
the provision of sidewalks and street lighting. At the
present time there are thirty-two street lights on
Townline Road, at about seventy (70) metres (230 feet)
intervals from Olive Avenue to Adelaide Avenue. Also,
there are sidewalks on the west side of Townline Road
from Highway No. 2 northerly to Kilmaurs Avenue (see
Attachment No. l) .
3 .2 . 3 Provision has been made in the Town's 1990 Capital
Budget for $80,000 to provide for the construction of
sidewalks on the east side of Townline Road from Olive
Avenue to Highway No. 2 . The construction of the
sidewalks will be included in the Region's contract for
the reconstruction of Townline Road.

Road from Adelaide Avenue to Highway No. 2 .
3.2 .5 Provision has also been made in the Town's 1991 Forecast
for the construction of sidewalks on the east side of
Townline Road from Highway No. 2 to Adelaide Avenue.
The Region has been asked to include the construction of
these sidewalks in their 1991 contract.
