Administration Committee the following resolution (#GPA-718-809)
was passed

REPORT NO. : WD-27-90 PAGE 2
3.0 THE PROBLEM
3 . 1 At the present time there exists a concern with buses parking on
Church Street to load and unload school children and occupying the
driving surface. In addition, there exists on street staff and
visitor parking for the school that adds confusion and congestion
to the area.
4.0 REVIEW AND COMMENT
4 . 1 The Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education has
recently entered into a site plan agreement with the Town for
the construction of an expansion to the Vincent Massey School
and the construction of a parking lot including an on site bus
loading zone. The new parking lot provides off street parking
for school staff and visitors, a bus loading zone to
accommodate the loading and unloading for all school buses .
These works will greatly improve traffic flow on site and on
Church Street. (see Attachment No. l) .
4 .2 At the present time The Board of Education has commenced the
construction of the expansion to the Vincent Massey School and
it is expected that the balance of the works will be completed
by fall of 1990 .
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
5 . 1 From the above it can be concluded that the construction of the new
parking lot and bus loading zone will eliminate the present traffic
congestion on Church Street.
5 .2 It is, therefore, recommended that this report be received for
information and that a copy of this report be forwarded to Mr.
George Brooks.
