1. Land Acknowledgement Acknowledgement delivered as per agenda.
2. Call to Order & Welcome The meeting was called to order at 8:30 AM.

4. Approval of Minutes (May 2026) Motion: Brad Seconded by: Chad Result: Carried
5. Treasurer's Monthly Report Current Balance: $12,851.95 Pending Account Payables: • $3,000 to the Municipality for the DBIA contribution to the tourism initiative. • $3,400 in 2025 Antique Festival expenses. Pending Account Receivables: • $7,500 withdrawal from the DBIA Reserve ('Big Box') funds approved by the Municipality. Cheque to be issued.
6. Delegate Updates
Glen
• Reviewed the Orono Economic Development Strategy (last completed in 2019).
• Stakeholder interviews underway with CBOT and Tourism Clarington.
• Public survey planned for late summer/early fall.
• Pop-up engagement planned during the Orono Fair.
• Brand Ambition developing marketing materials for the Orono Fair.
Rhonda
• Patio Network at Castor Brewery.
• Feature highlighting businesses north of Taunton Road.
• Audit to be released in the fall.
• Shop Local Showcase – October 3 (10:00 AM–4:00 PM).
• '4 Downtowns – 1 Clarington' campaign continues.
Katie – Brand Ambition
• Presented the Downtown Orono marketing strategy.
• Focus on visual branding and messaging.
• Develop promotional materials.
• Social media workshop for downtown businesses.
• Encourage collaboration between businesses.
7. Action Items & Updates
Reserve Fund Request • $7,500 approved for Christmas light repairs, CCTV camera contribution, and new Town Hall Christmas tree lights. • Continue obtaining repair quotes.
Town Hall Collaboration Brad and Chad met with the Town Hall Board on May 11 to discuss future event partnerships and collaboration.
Orono Sign Project Project remains a work in progress.
Additional Business Recommendation to relocate the Town Hall flagpole, as nearby tree branches are damaging the flags.
