Contact Rhonda for more details. An email has been sent. - CBOT is looking for feedback on the blue box program. A survey has been provided to all members via email. 7. Action Items & Updates 2026 Budget Approval The 2026 Orono DBIA operating budget was released to the membership in January 2026 in accordance with the DBIA’s governance and transparency practices. Since its release, the budget has been available for review by all members, and no amendments have been brought forward prior to this meeting. In keeping with DBIA requirements, formal approval of the annual budget must be granted by the membership through a recorded vote. Approval of the 2026 budget authorizes the Board to proceed with planned expenditures, reserve fund allocations, and program delivery as outlined in the approved financial plan. The following motion is therefore presented to the membership to formally adopt the 2026 budget and confirm authorization for expenditures and financial actions associated with the approved plan. Motion – Adoption of the 2026 Orono DBIA Budget Motion: That the membership of the Orono Downtown Business Improvement Area approve and adopt the 2026 operating budget as presented and circulated to the membership in January 2026, and that the Board of Management be authorized to administer and expend funds in accordance with the approved budget, including approved reserve fund allocations and related financial commitments. Moved by: ____________________ Seconded by: __________________ Result: ☐ Carried ☐ Defeated Reserve Fund Request – Update ($7,500.00) A formal request and resolution have been submitted to the Municipality of Clarington Finance Department to withdraw $7,500.00 from the DBIA Reserve Fund for the previously approved items, including: • Repair of existing Christmas light infrastructure • DBIA contribution toward the Community CCTV Camera Project • Purchase of new Christmas tree lights UPDATE: The municipality has acknowledged receipt of the request. Further updates will be provided once processing is complete. Orono Town Hall Collaboration – Update A joint board meeting will be held on May 11, 2026 with the Orono Town Hall to discuss next steps for collaboration, including future marketing initiatives and partnership opportunities. ROD Program – Update The Orono DBIA is planning a project kick-off meeting in May 2026 for the ROD-funded strategic marketing initiative. Date: To Be Determined (TBD) Further details will be shared once scheduling is confirmed. Orono Sign Project – Update No update at this time. 8.
