ACT: REQUEST TO OPEN THE ROAD ALLOWANCE KNOWN AS AKED ROAD BETWEEN
LOTS 4 & 5 IN CONCESSION 8, NORTHERLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 257
METRES (845 FEET) - MR. AND MRS. EARL WALSH
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report WD-18-90 be received;
2 . THAT the request from Mr. and Mrs . Earl Walsh to open
approximately 257 metres (845 feet) of the road allowance
between Lots 4 & 5 in Concession 8, former Darlington
Township, be approved subject to Mr. and Mrs . Walsh entering
into an agreement with the Town to satisfy all requirements
of the Town, financial and otherwise; and
3 . That Mr. and Mrs . Walsh be advised of Council 's decision.

2 .0 BACKGROUND
I
2 . 1 On January 26, 1990, a meeting was held with Mr. and Mrs . Walsh to
discuss the opening of the above road allowance. Mr. and Mrs.
Walsh wish to obtain a building permit to construct a house on
their property.
3 . 0 REVIEW AND COMMENT
3 . 1 At the present time, a building permit is not available because the
property owned by Mr. and Mrs . Earl Walsh does not have frontage
onto a year-round maintained road.
3.2 Section 9 .2 of the Town's Zoning By-law states that a building
permit would be available if the property has a minimum of 30
metres (98 .4 feet) of frontage onto a year-round maintained road.
4 . 0 RECOMMENDATION
4 . 1 It is therefore recommended that the request made by Mr. and Mrs .
Walsh to open the Road Allowance between Lots 4 and 5, Concession
8, former Township of Darlington be approved subject to Mr. and
Mrs . Walsh satisfying all requirements of the Town, financial and
otherwise.
