PRASE NOTE: The next Newcastle Hall Board meeting will be held on Tuesday,
May 22, 199O at 7:3n p.m.
The Newcastle C,om mziity Hall Board held their meeting on April 16 at 7:30
p.m. with R.B. Rickard, S. Dejong, N. Hoogkamp , B. Adams & D. Mace present.
A motion by N. Hoogkanp and seconded by B. .Adam that the minutes were
approved except for item No .1 in New Business, should read oil furnace CARRIED
Old Business:
It was decided that the core nittee would buy a certificate for B. Pearce also
a dinner voucher totalling $50,00,,,
S. De j ong contacted the janitor re list of duties to be carried out.
The equipment that was for sale was far too big for our use.
Safety strips - still waiting for a quote.
Correspondence:
Grant - Original request was for $60,000, amount allocated in letter $4,500 R. B. Rickard acting upon this.
Letter from Mr. & Mrs. Hazel re non-smoking signs - it was decided that a
letter be written to `qtr. & Mrs. Hazel thanking them for their
concern etc.,
A motion by N. Hoogkamp and seconded by B. Adams that the correspondence be
acted- upon as discussed .. CARRIED
Bills:
The bills for Radio Shack, Hydro & Phone were to be looked into. The
bills from M. Couch need mare itemized invoices so that we know the dates
and item purchased.
A motion by S. Dejong and seconded by B. Adams that all bills be paid CARRIED -
Treasurer's Report:
No report - books with auditors
New Business:
Mrs. Crockett presented Financial Statement and estimate for repairs for
Bowling Alley she suggested* that they pay for repairs but asked for a
waiver crif rent. The matter was discussed at great length.
A motion by N. Hoogkanp and seconded by S. De j ong that they go ahead with
repairs of $3,995 and pay a partial rent of $600 and approach us again at
the end of the year if they run into difficulties
A motion by LMarns and seconded by S. De j ong that they go ahead and
pay for the repairs of $3,995 and also pay rent of.. $12OO and if they do have
problems during the year then they can approach the c onrni.t Also we
