The regular meeting of this Board was held Monday, June 22/tl with
Brenton Rickard,_ Narda Hoogkamp-, Fred Couch, Sierd deJong and Margaret
Brereton presents:
The new Bowling Alley Committee executive was present' at this meeting.
The Board Chairman read the proposed lease to the delegation and every-
thing seemed to be satisfactory except for the word 'lease' and it
was finally decided to change it to 'agreement!' The Board was asked to
have a light placed on the west side,of the hall to brighten the west
entrance which bowlers use as entry to the Bowling Alley. There was
some discussion about a new sign and the Bowling Comm, secretary was given
the number of the secretary -treasurer of the Town of Newcastle Public
Library Board who are in the process- of discussing the same matter.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and adopted on a motion by
Hoogkamp'„ which was seconded by Couch and Carried;,
Old Business: (1) Fred reported there seems to be no leakage problem
in the west side of the main hail
It was moved by Hoogkamp, seconded by deJong, vie proceed with
interior repairs to the west side of the main hall and that we
contact Mr. George Taft,, of Bowmanville', about the job,Carriedt
(2) moved by Couch, seconded by deJong, Masonic rent
be increased to y 1250..00. Carried:
The following treasurer's report was accepted on a motion by Hoogkamp,
which was seconded by deJong and Carried.
