HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-03-22 MinutesMTN TES CF HALL BOARD METING -- MARCH 22nd/76 The regular meeting of this Fall Board was held Monday, March 22/76 with Betty Adams, Ken Lyall, Narda Ho ogkamp , Fred Couch, Brenton Rickard and Margaret Brereton present. The minutes were read and adopted on a motion by Couch which was seconded by Hloogkamn and Carried! Brenton reported (1) nothing had been done about the sign in the parking lot. (2) Chris Barchard, our caretaker, had accepted a 5% increase in salary. Lyall is to (1) check on the cost of services, e . i . water, sewer hydro, on other Town properties. ' (2) check to see if Board members are covered on Hall insurance. (3) check on legality and need for supervision at functions where beer, liquor and/or tine is disnenseda Correspondence: 1. Town of Newcastle - re. Orono Garden Centre bill 2. Town of Newcastle - re. Cemetery Board meeting 3. Town of Newcastle - re. Hall Board Accounts 4. N.D.P. - r e . $15.00 suDervision i on charge and cancellation of future dates All correspondence is to be filed, but the secretary was instructed to write to the N.I.P. requesting the $15.00 for supervision as a Hall Board member was there at 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., TCxxx xtkw also at 8:30 p.m. In fact the hall was opened and locked up by Brenton Rickard. The secretary was instructed to abide by Mr. Descent's decision re the Orono Landscaping bill. Chris asked if something could be done to have the morning school bus stop and pick up passengers somewhere other than the Community Hall. Brenton is to speak to George Cameron about this. Fred Couch was asked to see- if the tans in the kitchen need new washers. It was moved by Lyall, seconded by Adams, Mr. Barchard be given a 5% increase in salary retroactive to March 1, 1976. Carried! There was a complaint about the eavestroughing not working properly on the east side of the hall. Bills: F. Couch - 28.50 - N. Hoogkamp - 45.75 - Bell Canada 12.06 C. Barchard - 46.25 - W. T. Masters - 178.24 - R H. B. Rickard - 9.84 - Moved by Couch, seconded by Hoogkamn, the Carried! supervision and labour supervision and labour supplies and services sipplies i e s repairs bills be paid as presented. The Board was informed the Clerk of the Town wishes to have a key to the Council Chambers. It was moved. by Lyall, seconded by Couch, 2. the Clerk be given a key to the Council Chambers for his convenience. Carried! 'red is to look after getting this done. Complaints were voiced about the untidiness of the downstairs kitchen. After some discussion it was decided the secretary should have conies made of the Caretaking Duties. There was quite a discussion on the charging for parking lot privileges. It was finally decided to leave things as they are at present. It was moved by Lyall, seconded by Couch, the treasurer's report, ±±K indicating indicating a balance of $4,697.62 be filed. Carried The rental agreement was revised. Supervision nights were designated. Moved by Hoogkamp, seconded by Couch, we adjourn. Carried! PLEASE NOTE!
