1.Land Acknowledgement read - Meeting called to order at 9:04am
2.Clarington’s Community Improvement Plan Update: Asya Bidordinova-
Sierra Planning & Andrea-MHBC
BIA members that were in attendance and have used the CIP program in
the past, shared their experiences, good or bad and what they would like
to see in the new CIP. The consultants are looking at one consistent CIP
across the Municipality and as well extending it to affordable housing,
rural and industrial lands. The stakeholder engagement will start in
January 2026 with a survey where business owners can provide input.
Laura Knox and Glen MacFarlane are our contacts at the Municipality on
this project.
3.Streetscape Update: Andrei Micu- Clarington’s Park Design Manager
The Streetscape plan is expected to start in 2027. They are at the
conceptual stage and nothing is finalized. They will be updating us at
various stages throughout the project. Their goals are to improve
pedestrian space, get people walking downtown safely. Improve traffic
flow. Watermains and storm sewers will be replaced at the same time.
They will make sure detours are in place and businesses will remain
open during the construction. Any feedback can be sent to Laura Knox.
4.Events:
Community Hall Lighting (Sunday, November 16th, 5:15pm)
The new tree is being put up on Friday the 14th and lite at 5:15pm just
before the parade starts.
Santa Parade (Sunday, November 16th, 5:30pm)
All plans are in place for this Sunday, businesses have been notified of
road closures
Santa Breakfast (Sunday, November 30th, 8-11am)
Event planning is happening.
5.2026 Budget meeting - Marni will set up a lunchtime date in the next
month.
6. New Business: AGM- reach out to Newcastle Griddle for date and
availability
