I REPORT: In August 1986, residents of Langmaid Road, Lot 32/33, Concession 5, former Darlington, attempted to improve drainage by installing concrete drains and I an unapproved storm sewer along the eastern edge of the road. Public Works Department Reports WD-78-86 and WD-95-86 were submitted to the General Purpose & Administration Committee for consideration. Staff were directed to meet with the residents to discuss the various suggested alternatives to ameliorate the problems and report back to the General Purpose and Administration Committee. Monies were included in the 1987 Public Works Department Budget to make the necessary repairs. I . . .2 i ET c� Page 2 Report WD-1-88 Meetings were held'with' the concerned property owners and follow-up correspondence specifying the work to be preformed was delivered on October 27, 1987. i i The Public Works Department proceeded with the project in November, 1987, i and the following work was completed: - Replacement of existing cross road culvert and installation of rip rap. I i (The new culvert is longer in length and allows for a wider road surface at this location.) - Removal of all storm sewer pipe and appurtenances, and stock piled same on owner's property. - Replacement of all driveway culverts with full driveway restoration. - Shaping of an aesethetically acceptable, maintainable ditch across the frontage of all affected properties. - Seeding of disturbed areas and installation of a straw erosion blanket. The works are now substantially complete and it is anticipated that only minor restoration will be required in 1988 and will be accomodated out of the regular approved Public Works roadside maintenance budget.
