THAT this report be received; and 2. THAT By-law 86-1I2' being a by-law to establish a Street Name y&xp ] and Street Name Inventory in the Town of Newcastle be ammeuded to: "Change the name of Phoenix Drive to Qleuabbey Drive from ( ' Sandringham Drive to u point approximately I30 metres south of Sandringham Drive. 3. THAT Council authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute a by-law to amend By-Law 86-112r being a by-law to establish the Street Name Map and Street Name Inventory in the Town of Newcastle. 1.0 REPORT 1.1 The Public Works Department has reviewed a matter regarding the renaming of Phoenix Drive to OIeuabbey Drive. 1.2 Phoenix Drive is located in Conrtioev south of Highway #2 between PreotVovaIe Road and Trolls Road in the Couctioe Heights South Development (See Attachment 0o.1) . Page 2 WD-67-88 1.3 The purpose of this name change is to provide continuity of Glenabbey Drive from Townline Road to Sandringham Drive in accordance with our Neighbourhood Plan (See Attachment No.2) . 1.4 The present owners of the lots affected by this name change have been contacted and they have no objection to this change as proposed. 2.0 RECOMMENDATION 2.1 It is recommended that Phoenix Drive be renamed Glenabbey Drive and that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute a by-law to amend By-Law 86-112, being a by-law to establish the Street Name Map and Street Name Inventory in the Town of Newcastle. i i Respectfully submitted, Recommended for presentation to the Committee, Walter A.
