The Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington
By-law 2024-026
Being a by-law to repeal By-law 2007-231, to appoint Local Authority Services Ltd. as
the investigator pursuant to sections 8, 9, 10 and 239.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as
amended.
Whereas Council passed By-law 2007-231 to appoint a closed meeting investigator by
agreement;
And whereas Council now wishes to terminate that agreement;
And whereas Council approved the recommendations of Report LGS-021-24,
designating the Ontario Ombudsman as Clarington's Closed Meeting Investigator;
Now therefore the Council of the Municipality of Clarington enacts as follows:
1. That By-law 2007-231 is hereby repealed.
2. That this by-law shall come into effect on December 31, 2024.
