REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING OF MARCH 7TH1983.
REPORT NO: WD-15-81.
SUBJECT: BOWMANVILLE 125TH ANNIVERSARY PARADE.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended :
1 . That this report be received ; and ,
2. That the Chamber of Commerce acquire a Permit
in respect of Road Occupancy for Special Events;
and ,
3. That all Town Departments which can assist in the
preparation and staging of the event, offer their
co-operation in preparing for Bowmanville's
125th Anniversary Parade to be held on May 23 , 1983.
BACKGROUND AND REPORT:
The Public Works Department has been contacted by the Bowmanville
Chamber of Commerce with regard to the staging of the Anniversary
Parade through the town on May 23, 1983.
The Parade will commence at 10:30 a.m. and , starting from the grounds
of Central Public School , will travel down Silver Street to Church
Street , west on Church to Scugog Street , south to King Street , east
on King Street to Simpson Avenue , south on Simpson to Jane Street,
west on Jane Street to Liberty Street , and south on Liberty to the
grounds of Memorial Park , where the Parade will disperse.

It is understood the Parade will last approximately 1'/2 hours. The
Public Works Department has discussed the event with the Fire Chief,
who has no problems with the timetable or route specified.
Any expenditure incurred by the Public. Works Department in assisting
in the May 23 , 1983 , celebration , will be applied to Account Number
7202-0299-X-5.
