SUBJECT: CONTRACT FOR ASPHALT PAVING
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1. That this report be received; and,
2. That Staff be authorized to call tenders for the
supply and placement of Asphalt Paving in the Town of
Newcastle, in accordance with the 1983 Road
Maintenance and Road Construction Budget.
BACKGROUND AND REPORT
Each year the Public Works Department tenders for the supply
and placement of Asphalt Paving, in accordance with the
annual estimated requirements. In the Budget presentation,
Construction paving was separated from the Asphalt
Resurfacing (a Maintenance Item) to more accurately reflect
the total construction costs of each project.

The attached list represents the streets to be included for
paving in the 1983 Contract.
