Report No. WD -34 -86
BACKGROUND AND REPORT:
in 1980, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications accommodate
sassumedcerain
portions of the existing South Service Road from the Tow
reconstruction, upgrading and widening of Highway 401. Following
construction, Public Works was reluctant to recommend assumption as certain
deficiencies and problems were evident, specifically,
the maintenance and
energy costs associated with the maintenance of street lights and warning
lights installed by the Ministry on these sections of road. However, the
Ministry have now agreed to retain the responsibility with respect to
lights, therefore, it is in order for the Town to formally accept these
sections of South Service Road back into its road system.
Respectfully submitted,

Gordon J. Ough, P. Eng.,
Director of Public Works.
