The M.T.C. standard for reconstruction at Centrefield Drive (Tooleys Road) is to reconstruct to a rural cross section with gravel shoulders and ditch drainage. However, as a result of the abutting development on Centrefield Drive, this level or standard was not acceptable to the Public Works Department. Public Works Staff have requested the M.T.C. to consider reconstructing the portion of Centrefield Drive from Highway # 2 to Briar Gate as part of their Highway # 2 project. The additional costs over and above the costs of rural reconstruction are to be assessed to the Town and it is recommended for subsidy purposes that they be charged to the Public Works Account for Unspecified Construction associated with development. The department has received contributions and obtained financial securities from the abutting development to cover all costs. The M.T.C. will not enter into an agreement of this nature with private developers and recognizes the Town's development agreements with same. It is, therefore, recommended that the attached agreement be executed on behalf of the Town. Res tfully sub fitted, - ordon J. Ough, P. Eng., Director of Publi Works. DTG:jco April 30, 1986.
