Committee Meeting of December 7th, 1981 .

Subject : Newcastle Fitness Centre
(Scaffold)
Recommendations :
It is respectfully recommended :
1 . That this report be forwarded to Council
for approval and implementation in the
1981 Budget .
Background :
We require a scaffold system to be used in the
Squash Courts to replace lights and general facility
maintenance .
Due to the fact that the corridor and the entrance
to the Squash Courts is too narrow for a ladder to be
used for maintenance to the lighting system.
Up-Right Scaffolds of Whitby, Ontario, have a
portable scaffold that you wheel down the corridor
and into the Squash Courts. It contains four (4)
sections and a platform height of sixteen (16) feet
and working height of twenty-one (21) feet .
This scaffold could be utilized in the Arenas
for changing lights and various other jobs, and this
could be repeated in Parks and Hall Buildings .
Comment :
The cost of this Up-Right Scaffold is $2 , 870. 50.
This piece of equipment was not included in our
Budget in 1981 , however there is funds available in
Newcastle Fitness Centre . Account Number - 7607-209-
004 - facility Maintenance .
