1. BACKGROUND
1.1 On September 29, 1997, Council passed the following resolution:

2. STAFF COMMENT
2.1 The Affordability and Choice Today (A.C.T.) Program has been in place for several
years. Although the Program has been in place for several years, staff have not
made any application in the past primarily due to the very limited funds available
for all Canada municipalities. In addition, we feel that the scope of the eligibility
is also rather limited.
2.2 We have review the Department Work Program and cannot identify any project
or case study that would qualify for the grant. Nevertheless, staff will monitor the
program annually and will report to Council should a "fit" arises in the future.
Respectfully submitted,
Franklin Wu, M.C.I.P., R.P.P.
Director of Planning
and Development
